Yana Davis figured out the price of violence when she was 5-years-old. She felt pain when she learned about the children whose parents were victims of homicides or other killings while watching TV.
So during the fall 2011, Yana told her parents she didn't want presents for Christmas. Instead, she wanted to give to children whose parents' lives were taken too soon.
Her reason why is simple. She just wants them to give back.
"Because they can do the same thing I am doing and it can go on for generations to generations to generations," Yana, now 10, said.
