8:56 AM... Medical Call Turns into a Active Structure Fire

DOTHAN: At 8:56 AM. Dothan Fire Dispatched received a call at 1014 Dutch Street for a possible medical call. Engine 4 responded and as they were turning onto Dutch the call was changed to a structure fire.
Multiple Dothan Fire units responded to the report of a structure fire at 1014 Dutch. . The Engine 4 arrived and reported heavy smoke and flames visible.
Battalion Chief Gaster has command. Dothan Police responded along with an ambulance. The road the fire is located on is closed due to emergency equipment and supply line blocking the road.
Dothan Fire Marshal has been requested. The fire damaged a vehicle in the carport and the home it self. The occupant was able to get out of the home but did inhale smoke and was treated on the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Dothan Fire Marshall’s Office.
