A - Advantage Bonding Bail Enforcement Apprehend Fugitive

HOUSTON COUNTY:     Today Bail Enforcement Agents from A - Advantage Bonding received information on a fugitive we have been looking for.


Working alone, Rickey Stokes, went to the motel where the intelligence information had led to his whereabouts.


Because the warrants were felony arrest warrants that he failed to appear on, Stokes requested the assistance of Dothan Police.


Stokes went into the motel room where the fugitive was located and escorted him out of the motel room. After the subject was brought from the motel room outside the door Dothan Police conducted a search of his person. They found illegal drugs on him.


Arrested was Jesse Mathis.


He now has additional charges on him for the drugs found on him when taken into custody today. And he has pending charges.


ALABAMA DEPARTMENT OF FORENSIC SCIENCES   



The Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences has about a two year back log on drug testing. Persons arrested for drug offenses in 2013 are just now getting indicted by Grand Juries in December 2016. The backlog is not the fault of local officials, well officials who serve locally. The fault rests with the State of Alabama.


The Director of the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences is appointed by the Attorney General. But once appointed, the only way that person can be removed is by way of impeachment like that of an elected District Attorney.


A District Attorney, the registered voters can remove from office every six (6) years at election time. But to remove the Director of Forensic Sciences, that person must commit an impeachable offense.


BAIL ENFORCEMENT OF A BAIL BONDING COMPANY


When a person fails to appear for court, the bail bondsman starts a search for that person. The Bail Enforcement Agents are given wide latitude in the search and apprehension of the fugitive.


We take the job very serious. We work to help the people solve their issues, but when they fail to appear, if they do not come in voluntarily and resolve the issues, then we search and take into custody.
