ALABAMA:     Alabama State Trooper's Lives DO NOT matter.

Currently in Alabama, like the Dothan Trooper Post, their communications dispatch is through Mobile Alabama Trooper Post. The problem is the radios, which came with Noah on the Ark, will not talk to the Mobile Trooper Post 60% of the time.

Seriously, I started in 1977 and the Alabama State Troopers are on the same radio system they were when I started.

So when Alabama State Troopers make traffic stops are in a situation, they are on the their own. If they are in a shoot out or fight, hopefully someone will see and dial 911.

In Houston County, former Sheriff Andy Hughes and current Sheriff Donald Valenza put radios in the Trooper Cars. In Henry County, Sheriff Will Maddox put radios in the Trooper cars. This has helped some but the Troopers lives DO NOT MATTER to the members of the Alabama Legislature.

SPENCER COLLIER

Spencer Collier was the first Secretary ( boss ) of the Alabama Department of Law Enforcement. A good concept by Senator Del Marsh t combine law enforcement agencies into one agency, Alabama Department of Law Enforcement.

But Spencer Collier was unable to manage. And he was to involved in the personal life of Alabama Governor Robert Bentley.

We have ABC ( Alabama Beverage Control Board ) agents who should be in uniform patrolling the roads. Instead they are working teenagers at concerts like Toadlick. When Dothan Police and Houston County Sheriff were on scene and really did not need their help.

ALEA needs to put these guys on the road working instead of a gravy train. ALEA needs to develop a communications plan, being innovative, before law enforcement officers are killed.

Spencer Collier failed this state. He files suit agains the Govenor because he lost his job. The public ought to file to intervene that he was a failure, and as a result Alabama State Troopers live DO NOT matter because of the communications life line.

Spencer Collier was a failure and his lawsuit is garbage. You placed lives in danger, lied to people like our former Sheriff you brought to Montgomery, and only mad because you lost a six figure job.

A MESSAGE TO THOSE IN CHARGE IN THE ALABAMA STATE HOUSE

Between the life of a law enforcement officer and the life of those in the Alabama State House. Which is really more important to the safety and welfare of the citizens. The legislator or law enforcement officer

In the Alabama State House you have security running out the ears for your protections. Some of you have body guards.

While I do not want anything to happen to you, let me be clear. The life and protection of the law enforcement officer to have the resources to do his or her job matters more than your security protection.

We have lost a person placing their life on the line for the safety of the citizens when we have lost a law enforcement officer.

So it is time to make sure these officers are equipped as they shold be.

INNOVATIVE

Be innovative. Work with local departments to handle communications for Troopers. Get out of the box and think. Put ALL of the members of ALEA to work and working. Do your job instead of being a bureaucrat.

And to the public. This is not Rickey Stokes fussing so do  not shoot the messenger and listen to the message. Troopers lives DO MATTER to me and that is the purpose of this article. But apparently when Spencer Collier was in place and the members of the Alabama Legislature they mean nothing.

To the wife and husbands of the Troopers, have your lawyers place each member of the Alabama Legislature on notice if your husband or wife are injured are killed on the line of duty, place Spencer Collier on notice for his mismanagement of the agency on notice as a individual if your husband or wife are injured in the line of duty because of communications, they are being held personally resposbile.
