Barbara Ann Costelloe, age 60, of Dothan passed away Monday, February 27, 2017 at her residence, after fighting breast cancer for four years.


She was born April 24, 1956 in Dothan Alabama to the late William Henry Conrad and Alma Lois Bruner Conrad. Barbara retired from the Dothan Eagle after working there for 30 years. She loved plants and flowers, listening to her wind chimes, arts & crafts and reading. She also loved baking and was famous for her red velvet cake. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-mother.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Donnie Gene Costelloe, and her daughter, Brenda Faye Williams.


Survivors include her daughters, Angie Costello (Carlos) of Columbia, Ann Costello of Dothan, Teresa Ann Williams of Dothan; her sons, Mitchell Williams (Mary Teresa) of Dothan, Ronnie Costelloe (Tina Jackson) of Dothan; her sisters, Mary Ethel Brunson (Wayne Nowel) of Dothan, Linda Jane Boster (Mathew) of Rehobeth; and her brother Charles Allen Conrad Sr. (Irene) of Ashford. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren along with a host of other family and friends.    


Funeral services will be held in the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 11 AM with Dr. Ricky Plumber officiating. Burial will follow in Crestlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 PM to 7 PM, Friday, March 3, 2017 at the funeral home.


Flowers will be accepted or contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Children’s Hospital of Birmingham.
