Chase Leads From Barbour County to Abbeville of Clay County GA Ambulance

ABBEVILLE:    This morning Barbour County Sheriff Department got into a chase with a ambulance from Clay County ( Ft. Gaines ) Georgia.

The chase led into Henry County and Abbeville. Abbeville Police, Henry County Sheriff Department and Barbour County Sheriff Department were involved in the chase. Unknown what other agencies.

The law enforcement in Henry County had the quick time to deploy spike strips which puncture the tires of the ambulance. After the ambulance hit the spike strips the ambulance was able to be stopped.

The suspect, Christopher Lee Crumpton, resisted the police and the force the suspect required was used to take him into custody.

Crumpton will have charges in multiple counties. At this time he is being held in the Henry County Jail. He will eventually make it back to Clay County Georgia to answer for the theft of the ambulance.

Crumpton has along history of drug use.
