On the morning of October 3, 2016 several Graceville area residents awoke to discover their vehicles had been burglarized throughout the night. Taken during the course of the burglaries were firearms, money, stereos, sunglasses and additional personal items belonging to the victims.

On Friday, January 6, 2017 the Jackson County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division, with assistance from the Chipley Police Department and Washington County Sheriff’s Office, made progress into its investigation of this rash of vehicle burglaries.

Two male juvenile suspects (whose names will be kept confidential due to their juvenile status) have been arrested in connection with the burglaries and are currently incarcerated at the Bay Juvenile Detention Facility in Panama City, FL. A third suspect, Gregory Lamar Kennedy, aka “Red Man”, has been identified in the cases.

Warrants for Kennedy’s arrest have been issued in Jackson County, FL. Kennedy remains at-large and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is seeking assistance from its citizens and the US Marshal Service for his apprehension. Kennedy was recently released from the Florida Department of Corrections in July of 2016 and has been known to reside in the Cottondale area of Jackson County and Chipley area of Washington County.

Kennedy should be considered armed and dangerous. If spotted, please notify your local law enforcement agency or contact Crime Stoppers toll free at 1-800-222-8477 or 850-526-5000. Sheriff Roberts would like to extend his gratitude to the citizens of Jackson County and the above mentioned agencies in advance for their cooperation in this matter.
