HAPPY BIRTHDAY CODY HAYES
Twenty years ago today Frank And Alicia Hayes celebrated the birth of their beautiful baby boy who they named Cody. I never had the honor of meeting Cody but he changed my life forever. It’s because of the life Cody Hayes lived that inspired me to begin helping children in our community who are diagnosed with cancer. It is also because of the life that Cody Hayes lived that also inspired me to do the Angel of Hope statue.
The "Staying Cody Strong" Nonprofit 501(c)3 Foundation was founded January 2015 by Frank and Alicia Hayes to honor their only child Cody Hayes' memory. On October 5, 2013 four months after Cody turned sixteen he was diagnosed with Leukemia (AML). Cody fought a courageous battle for eight months and just after his seventeenth birthday lost his battle (June 12, 2014). SCS foundation is an organization of family members and volunteers, working together to End Childhood Cancer.
Frank and Alicia grieve every single day over the loss of their only child Cody Hayes. But I know that they also rejoice each day by knowing that their son was a loving, caring, unselfish and giving young man.
Happy Birthday Cody Hayes...One day we will meet and I will give you the biggest hug for inspiring me to help others.
Sending my love, thoughts and prayers
On this very special day to Frank and Alicia Hayes
