The Daylily Art & Garden Festival will be Saturday, May 20, 10am-3pm, on the square in downtown Headland. The festival features a Youth Art Contest and Exhibit, garden-related crafts like birdhouses and wind chimes, art vendors, daylilies and other plants, gardening products and farmers market vendors.
Entertainment will be include a performance by the 98th Army Jazz Band and tenor saxophone player Keni Jackson in the gazebo. Hands-on art and gardening activities will be offered for free for children inside the square. Local daylily growers Bush Gardens will have garden tours and activities from 8am- 4pm at Bush Gardens II, 2656 Hwy 134 W.
Headland artist Joan Weems is the Featured Artist of this year’s festival. She will exhibit a selection of her art during the day. Mrs. Weems taught art in the public school system for 28 years and is the art therapist at Living Waters Counseling.
