Deadly officer-involved shooting probe underway in Phenix City

An investigation is underway after a deadly officer-involved shooting in Phenix City.


According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the shooting happened at 4:52 p.m. Sunday in the area of 12th Place and 11th Avenue. Trooper Corporal Jess Thornton said Phenix City Police Chief Ray Smith and the Russell County District Attorney's Office requested ALEA's assistance in the probe.
