Does your workplace look like this?

Negativity, chit chat, libel, slander & gossip are commonplace. Managers are inconsistent and often play favorites. Everyone is in firefighting mode rather than fire prevention mode. We seem to bounce around from problem to problem like balls in a pin ball machine. No one is held accountable. We are blame shifters and excuse-full. Back biting and jockeying for position is normal. We are constantly shooting ourselves in the foot. Structure, policies and procedures are lacking. Communication is poor. Some people get a special joy out of making things difficult for others. There seems to be a negative undercurrent. The boss is yelling and telling instead of coaching. The boss has fits, tantrums and outbursts way too often. Too many are doing just enough to get by and never more than they are expected to do. We hear a lot of, "That's not in my job description." Managers can't seem to coach performance improvement.  We are mired in persistent mediocrity. We have a knack for filling holes in the organizational chart with bodies. Too many employees are un-coachable. We cannot seem to move from being managers to being leaders. We are stuck in a preverbal rut. These self-inflicted issues are a ridiculous distraction and sap enormous amounts of energy from everyone. Employees would say this is not a great place to work, it's not a horrible place, but it's just a job.... and the scariest part is that consumers sense it too and it has a negative impact on the bottom line.

Or does your workplace look like this?

We are positive, upbeat and enthusiastic. Morale is sky high. Unity is amazing and we are all about helping others. Idle time? What's idle time? We understand there is no 'I' in the word TEAM. We are a lean mean coaching machine. This is a no negativity zone. We are rational problem solvers. We are fire prevention experts and solve things once and for all. We don't have managers, we have leaders. Our organization is set on autopilot. Everyone knows what to do, how to do it and when to do it. We are a goal setting and goal crushing team with incredible synergy. Our leaders are very consistent. Everyone is gladly held accountable to the highest standards and expectations. We are continually growing. There are no Negative Nannies and Gloomy Gus's on our team! Our leaders expect the best and get it. Our high achieving team does the little things that mediocre teams deem unnecessary. We set each other up for success. This is a phenomenal place to work and a great place to do business... and customers feel it!

The problems with the first organization described above are issues we've seen many times before and they appear in all business segments or industries.... retail, service, construction, financial, food service, health care, NPO's... it seems no industry is immune. Be sure that these issues no matter how seemingly insignificant will have a negative impact on the working environment, the customer experience and the bottom line.

Imagine this conversation between the (CFO) Chief Financial Officer and (CEO) Chief Executive Officer.

CFO to CEO; "What if we spend money developing our people and they leave us?"

CEO to CFO; "What if we don't invest money developing our people and they stay?"

Here are two options for you to consider if your group sounds like the first organization described above or exhibits even the slightest hint of any of those nasty characteristics.

Have us come and talk to your company leadership team. The new year is a great time to get refocused and recharged. For qualified organizations, our 2-hour leadership mini-workshops are FREE.

Leadership seminars are now forming for the first half of 2017.  Pre-Register your interest in attending an amazing one day leadership seminar. Pay nothing now, just tell us you'd like to know when and where. When the classes form, we will reach out to you with details. Many leaders say this seminar the best investment they’ve ever made in their career and many organizations say this training is the best investment they've ever made in their leaders.

You have nothing to lose and awesomeness to gain.
