On February 6, 2017, at 11:50 PM, the Enterprise Police Department responded to two robberies that occurred with minutes of each other. The first robbery took place at America’s Best Value Inn and Suites, 101 Access Road Enterprise, AL. Motel employees advised that the suspect approached the counter and requested a room to rent. The suspect produced a handgun and threated the employee. The employee was able to get behind a locked door and call 911. The suspect fled the scene on foot.
A few minutes later, Enterprise 911 received a robbery call that occurred at Tom Thumb, 701 Plaza Drive Enterprise, AL. Tom Thumb employees advised that a black male wearing a mask entered the business and immediately demanded money. The suspect, who was armed with a handgun, threatened to shoot the employees if the money was not handed over. The suspect took the money and ran from the store. Responding EPD Patrol Officers apprehended the suspect after a brief search of a wooded area next to the business. The Enterprise Police Department arrested and charged Zoterrian Marquez Jones, age 22, of Enterprise, AL, with two counts of Robbery 1st degree.
