Eufaula Police Press Release In Re Winn Dixie Parking Lot Shooting

EUFAULA POLICE DEPARTMENT
EUFAULA, ALABAMA

On Wednesday 22 March at 1717 hours, several 911 calls were received regarding gunshots in the Winn Dixie parking lot in Eufaula. Mr. James Davis, no age available, of Eufaula, was shot once in the upper body and transported to a Dothan hospital by Eufaula Rescue. His injuries do not appear to be life threatening. One subject has been detained for questioning. There were reports of another individual involved in the shooting that fled the scene on foot. After an extensive search of the area by officers of several agencies and an Alabama Department of Corrections K-9 Team, no other suspects were located. Mr. Davis was the only injury, however three vehicles sustained bullet damage. The Criminal Investigations Division is reviewing security video and interviewing witnesses and the investigation is ongoing. More details will be released as they become available.
