DOTHAN: On the heels of a significant severe weather outbreak and ahead of the main portion of severe weather season, WTVY 4Warn Weather Team, teamed with Midland Radio and Walgreens to program and make available NOAA Weather Radios.
They were at the Walgreens on the corner of West Main St. and Westgate Parkway on the west side of Dothan today from 2:00-6:30 pm.
They made sure your weather radio is set for your county, or pick up the latest model from Midland. NOAA Weather Radio is a great source of warning information, especially at night when you’re sound asleep.
Dothan/Houston County EMA Staff was also on hand to assist with programming and any questions you may have had about emergency preparedness.
Today's event had a wonderful turn out and the lines were long from the start but everyone was getting their radios programed.
The key to saving lived durming bad weather is to get the word out and get it out fast. These radios will help folks to get the warnings and be able to take cover...
