DALE COUNTY: About 8:55 PM Dale County Sheriff Chief Deputy Mason Bynum posted the following to his FACEBOOK.
"There is no way I could respond to all the texts and calls I received but while there is a break in the action I would like to thank the people who volunteered their time and the ones that donated food to us over the past 24+ hours. It's energizing to know that we are supported by your prayers and actions during difficult times. I'm aware that everyone is curious to know what is happening with this case but due to the sensitivity of the investigation our information will be limited. Hopefully one day in the future we will be in a courtroom and when that day comes we owe it to the victim and the person(s) responsible to have a fair and impartial trial. Keep the prayers coming!"
Since last evening Chief Deputy Bynum, Dale County Sheriff Wally Olson, the entire Dale County Sheriff Criminal Investigation Team and Sheriff Deputies, combined with other agencies have worked a crime scene on Dale County Road 36. They have worked around the clock since late Saturday evening when a decomposed body was found.
During a murder investigation law enforcement officers can not make many comments. A lot of FACTS they have to hold close to their vest as they conduct the investigation.
On the scene last evening shortly after the officers arrived Dale - Geneva County District Attorney Kirke Adams was called to the scene and responded. Because the crime has to be prosecuted by the District Attorney, a lot of agencies call the District Attorney to the scene to assist them in the investigation.
Please keep the Dale County Law Enforcement Team and all agencies who have assisted in your prayers as well as the family of the victim.
