Greenwood Man Arrested on Multiple Charges

On February 6, 2017 at approximately 11:40 P.M. The Jackson County Sheriff's Department received a 911 call, in reference to a Domestic Disturbance in the Greenwood area. When Deputies arrived, contact was made with the victim. She advised that her brother, Jason Thomas came home and slammed a door, waking up her one year old child.
A verbal argument ensued and eventually become physical with Thomas striking his sister in the face. He then broke the glass out of a stove door, the glass on an exterior door in the home and an exterior window. He made his way outside where he broke the rear windshield out of the victim's vehicle. When Thomas broke the window to the residence, broken glass fell on and covered a one year old child that was sleeping in their bed.
Thomas had already exited the residence on foot when responding Deputies arrived. While searching the area for Thomas another 911 call was placed by the victim, advising that Thomas had returned to the residence. He was then located at the residence and placed under arrest. A search of his person revealed a small pill bottle that contained a quantity of suspected “crack” cocaine. Thomas was transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await First Appearance.
Arrested: Jason A. Thomas, 24 years of age, Greenwood, FL
Charges: 1) Domestic Battery
2)Criminal Mischief (Felony)
3)Child Abuse
4)Possession of a controlled substance (“Crack” Cocaine)
