Groundbreaking Held for Health Center South Medical Office Complex

Dothan, AL – Health Center South began a new era in premier multi-specialty medical office space for the Wiregrass with the formal groundbreaking of the new Health Center South Medical Office Complex on their campus in Dothan on Wednesday morning.


The 200,000 square foot building will be the largest leasable medical office building in the region with scalable fiber optic internet connectivity of up to 100 gigabytes of upload and download speeds – the fastest in the Wiregrass.


Conley Freeman, Chief Technology Officer of Troy Cable stated, “By connecting into Troy Cable’s advanced Fiber Optic network, Health Center South’s communication infrastructure will scale many years beyond today’s available technology.”


The unique 5-story class “A” medical complex will also feature covered parking, complimentary Tesla/electric vehicle charging for lessees, over 890 parking spaces, 4 elevators, 4 floors with 29- to 36,000 square feet of leasable space, several 2-story lobbies and convenient next door access to Surgery Center South.


Dr. Sebastian Heersink, managing partner in Health Center Development, LLC is part of the team developing the state-of-the-art medical office space.  “We are thrilled to break ground today on this technologically-advanced building and doing our part to elevate Dothan’s medical landscape for patients and physicians alike,” announced Dr. Heersink.


“Our general contractor, Saliba Construction, is confident the new building infrastructure will be completed by the summer of 2018 and ready for tenants.  The exterior design of the medical office complex will complement the current building, creating a unified campus,” Dr. Heersink added.


The Health South Center medical campus will soon include another access point off Ross Clark Circle.  A separate vehicle, pedestrian, golf cart and bicycle bridge is currently being constructed on the north side of the 7-acre lot – offering additional access for patients, their families, staff, visitors and service personnel.
