Houston County Sheriff's Deputies Charge Two with Burglary

On 3/23/17 the Houston County Sheriff’s Office arrested two men from Ashford in connection with several car break-ins.  During the course of a month long investigation into the Unlawful Breaking and Entering of Motor Vehicles Willie Daniel Black, an 18 year old white male, and Mickey Renard Wesley Jr., a 19 year old black male, both of Ashford were arrested.  The two men were traveling around the Ashford area in the early morning hours breaking into unsecured vehicles and stealing items from within them. 


During the course of the Investigation the Houston County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division developed evidence to lead them to the apprehension and arrest of Willie Black and Mickey Wesley.  During the time of their arrest a subsequent search of their residence led to the recovery of thousands of dollars’ worth of stolen property to include several firearms, electronics, and personal effects.


18 year old Willie Daniel Black was charged with 7 counts of Unlawful Breaking and Entering a Motor vehicle and his bonds total $55,000


19 year old Mickey Renard Wesley Jr. was charged with 7 counts of Unlawful Breaking and Entering a Motor vehicle and his bonds total $55,000


The investigation is still ongoing and additional charges will be made.  The Houston County Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone who has received property from these two individuals to immediately call the Criminal Investigations Division at 334-677-4809 and return the property. 


The Sheriff’s Office also wants to remind all citizens of Houston County to secure their vehicles and valuables.  If you observe suspicious activity or persons in your area contact the Houston County Sheriff’s Office at 334-677-4808 and report it.
