Investigation Leads to an Arrest in Jackson County

Between the dates of February 24th, 2017 and March 1st, 2017 the Marianna Police Department was conducting an investigation in reference to a stolen utility trailer. On March 1st, 2017 the Marianna Police Department was able to locate the stolen trailer at the rear of the Executive Inn.
Officers observed a black in color, Dodge van pull the trailer from the parking lot and then travel east on Lafayette Street.
Officers were able to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle near the intersection of Penn Avenue and Lafayette Street. Officers identified the driver of the Dodge van as Kenneth Moore, of Tallahassee, Florida.
During the course of the investigation, Moore was found to be in possession of a loaded 45 cal. pistol and multiple loaded magazines. Moore is a convicted felon. It was also learned that Moore didn’t have a driver’s license. Moore was arrested for those offenses.
During the recovery of the stolen trailer, officers were able to locate items stolen in recent thefts.
