TAYLOR:    Recently the registered voters of Taylor Alabama did a clean sweep of the Mayor and Council. The small town followed the national trend, it is time to clean house and remove the milk. And they did.

The new Mayor, Billy Snell, well he is a unique individual. He has made some town employees mad with him. Like installing a time clock.

Snell and the members of the Taylor Town Council made a long overdue change. And that was in the City Judge for Taylor.

The long serving Judge in Ashford, Taylor and Cottonwood has been Doug Bates. While Bates did a good job, age has caught Bates and, to be blunt it was time for him to go. That December court proceedings, it was Bates that should have been placed in jail for contempt of court.

Ashford started the trend. Ashford did not re-appoint Bates to serve as Municipal Judge. After December actions, the first meeting in January the Taylor Town Council jerked the black robe from Bates and removed him from Taylor Municipal Court Judge.

Mayor Snell and members of the Taylor Town Council hired Forrest Taylor of the Cochran Firm as Taylor Municipal Court Judge.

It was a total different atmosphere. Judge Taylor treated people with dignity and respect, but treated them with firmness to handle the legal matters before the court.

JudgeTaylor did a great job.

Mayor Snell still has some things needs to watch in the court system. And the eyes she can see and cannot see are watching.

REMEMBER when dealing with some of these - tape recordings are legal as long as one person of the conversation knows they are being recorded. NEVER - NEVER - NEVER trust them. Have proof and documentation.

Even in court, if no court reporter present, tape recorders are legal. And should I mention vasluable
