Local High School Students Receive Sony Scholarships

DOTHAN, Ala. – Two local area high school students recently were awarded Sony Electronics Scholarships. The Dothan Area Chamber Foundation and Sony Scholarship Selection Committee are pleased to announce the 2017 scholarship awardees are Mikayla Johnson, a Dothan High School senior, and Nick McCarthy, a Northview High School senior, were recently awarded $10,000 each.


Johnson will be attending the University of South Alabama to pursue a degree in physical therapy/radiology. McCarthy plans to attend Auburn University and major in pre-medicine and exercise science.


Administered through the Dothan Area Chamber Foundation, this private scholarship program is open to seniors who attend Dothan High School or Northview High School.
