On February 5th, 2017 at approximately 4:15 a.m., Officers with the Marianna Police Department responded to Three Rivers Apartments, located at 3070 Carters Mill Road, in reference to burglary in progress. While en-route to the scene Officers were provided with information from the victim that the subject was now fleeing the scene on a 2003 gray Mustang. As Officers traveled north on Carter’s Mill Road said vehicle was observed driving south bound. Officers of the Marianna Police Department attempted to affect a traffic stop on the vehicle. The driver of the Mustang, later identified as being Foster Myers, accelerated, attempting to elude the Officers. After a brief chase officers were able to stop the fleeing vehicle at which point the driver surrendered himself to Law Enforcement.
During the course of the investigation it was learned that Foster Myers had went to the residence of the mother of his children and forcibly entered the residence breaking a window out of one of the bedrooms of the apartment. The mother and her four minor children fled the residence, in fear that Myers was intent on causing them harm. Once inside the apartment Myers exited the front door due to knowing that Law Enforcement was en-route.
Myers is being charged with Burglary of an occupied dwelling, Fleeing and Eluding Law Enforcement Officers and Criminal Mischief.
Myers was taken to the Jackson County Correction Facility to await first appearance.
