HOUSTON COUNTY: A Houston County man, Lynn Edward Collie, has been placed in the Houston County Jail for Failure To Appear for Assault in the first degree.
It seems the assault occured in 1987 and was investigated by retired Dothan Police Lt. David Kirkland.
It seems that the Circuit Judge did the man awfully wrong and appointed a lawyer to represent him. It was Freddie Len White who now serves as a Dothan City Attorney.
The actual charging instruments can not be seen in the 1987 on line court record. But Collie is in the Houston County Jail on a $ 2,175,589.99 cash only bond.
The online court records indicate that Len White pled the man guilty. He was sentenced to 10 years. Ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $ 1,675,000.00.
Collie had his probation revoked. Has paid $ 2400.55 to date on the offense.
The District Attorney filed a show cause when the payments were not being made. That added 30% to what was owed to the court.
The man should have initial appearance before District Court Judge Benjamin Lewis in the morning.
