On January 10, 2017, a Jackson County Sheriff's Deputy observed a 2004 Chevrolet Suburban traveling west on Hwy 90 near Grand Ridge. The vehicle appeared to be traveling at a high rate of speed and was unable to maintain a single lane.
The Deputy initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Hwy 90 and Cypress Grove Road. Upon the vehicle stopping, the deputy made contact with the driver and sole occupant, Jennifer Lyn Solomon. A validity check of her Florida Drivers License revealed it was suspended indefinitely in 2015. At that time Solomon was taken into custody and the Deputy observed her displaying erratic behavior, consistent with being under the influence of an illicit substance.
A vehicle inventory was then conducted and while in progress the following items were observed, two glass drug paraphernalia pipes with residue, four halved tablets of 2mg Alprazolam (Xanax), and one tablet of 50 mg Butalbital. The residue from the glass pipes was field tested and displayed a positive result for the presence of Methamphetamine.
A wrecker service was requested and upon arrival, took custody of the vehicle. Solomon was transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await First Appearance, without further incident.
