Mike Hale, Sheriff of Jefferson County, Has Given His County A National Distinction

JEFFERSON COUNTY:    CONGRATULATIONS to Jefferson County Sheriff Mike Hale for his achievement since being elected as Chief Law Enforcement Officer for Jefferson County.


Under the Sheriff Mike Hale he has led the Jefferson County Crime Rate to being named ALABAMA'S MOST DANGEROUS CITY.


While Sheriff Hale will try and blame the crime rate  on the municipal departments, the law is clear the CHIEF LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER of a county is the Sheriff. And all municipalities in Jefferson County fall under his ultimate command as the Chief Law Enforcement Officer.


It is his duty to get it under control.


YEARS AGO IN DOTHAN ALABAMA


A number of years ago in Dothan Alabama we had a ineffective police chief. The City of Dothan was being plagued with armed robberies of convience stores.


Then Houston County Sheriff Andy Hughes placed deputies keeping stations under surveillance and the robbers were apprehended during the commission of a robbery.


The Chief Law Enforcement Officer for Houston County saw the crime was increasing and not decreasing. Since Dothan was in Houston County, as Chief Law Enforcement Officer, the Sheriff was proactive and stand to stop the roberry rash. And they did


JEFFERSON COUNTY   


The distinction of Birmingham being the most dangerous city in the State of Alabama, well Mike Hale should hang his head in shame and disgrace. That means he has been a failure at his job to protect the citizens and guests of Jefferson County.


And then he has the nerve to ask the Alabama Legislature to abolish pistol permits. Which would then make it a crime for a citizen to transport a firearm in their  vehicle because they do not have a permit. 


It is legal to "open carry" in Alabama. It is illegal to carry concealed. And when in your vehicle  the firearm is concealed.


Then when  you go to other states, you will not have a permit, therefore can not carry your firearm.


Plus pistol permits assist law enforcement officers.


And it is apparent, Mike Hale is not a good law enforcement officer. Because the national distinction he has allowed Jefferson County to get, well it ain't good.




Most dangerous city in Alabama...and every neighboring state



According to the FBI, the violent crime rate in the U.S. is about 372 per 100,000 residents.


In some places, however, it’s much higher.

The figures represent the total number of crimes reported to law enforcement agencies within a city per 100,000 people. Violent crime is defined as offenses that involve force or threat of force.


As Findthehome points out, the data only shows the relative rates of crime, which can be influenced by factors such as degree of urbanization, composition of age groups, local economy and modes of transportation within an area, and not the effectiveness of law enforcement.
