Motorist found shot to death in SUV on Interstate 20/59 in Birmingham

A man was found shot to death early Friday morning on Interstate 59 in western Birmingham.
The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the victim as Charles Lee Brown. He was 27.
West Precinct Sgt. Michael Kennedy said officers responded to the scene at the 19th Street Bridge shortly before 1:30 a.m. on a report of a wreck after they received a call from a passing motorist.
When they arrived, the found Brown unresponsive in the driver's seat of the Ford Explorer. He had been shot in the head, and was pronounced dead on the scene. The SUV had hit the barrier but there was no damage or injury from the impact.
