MONTGOMERY: Last night I was doing some research. And I came across the requirements to be Attorney General in Alabama.
And I was surprised to find that Alabama law DOES NOT REQUIRE a person to hold a law degree or be a licensed lawyer in order to be Attorney General for Alabama.
The only requirements are to be 25 years of age, a resident of the State of Alabama for 5 years, and a United States Citizen for 7 years.
Alabama Governor Robert Bentley could be appointing someone as Attorney General should he appoint the current Attorney General, Luther Strange, to United States Senator to replace Jeff Sessions.
For as long as I can remember the Attorney General in Alabama has been a lawyer. And that could be the problem!
And I fully support the appointment of Luther Strange as United States Senator. Because he will fit right in with the others in Washington D.C.
