OKAY - Dale County Residents - Is It Going To Take Your Loved One's Death?

DALE COUNTY:    Do you know where Wicksburg Rescue Headquaters is located?  Try off Highway 103 South, south of Wicksburg School.


Do you know where Dothan Airport is located?   Off Napier Field Road and Denton Road.


Today there was a medical emergency on Chrisney Lane in Dale County off Denton Road. Ozark - Dale County 911 Center first called Echo Rescue and they were unable to respond. They called Pilcher Ambulance and they were unable to respond to Dale County. 


Ozark EMS has four units, three were on calls and the fourth had to remain in the City Limits of Ozark in the event a call came in.


Ozark - Dale County 911 called Wicksburg Rescue to see if they could respond. So they responded. 


The call was a lady that fell off the lawnmower. The patient was transported to Flowers Hospital by Wicksburg Rescue, non emergency.


I have been sounding the alarm. And Mark Blakenship, Chairman of Dale County Commission and members of the Dale County Commission have not solved the problems. Yes, Midland City is working on a ambulance service but not in service.


The same has gone for Houston County Commissioner Mark Culver and members of the Houston County Commission.


I hate to be so blunt... but life is important to me. And is it going to take someone in your family dying for you to get on those elected with the responsibility to fix the problems?


I served as Houston County Coroner. In four years I worked 1154 deaths. Not one single one of the 1154 people that died in those four years ever made an appointment.


The point being, you never know where you will be and what you will be doing when an emergency situation strikes.


And if it is acceptable to you for a ambulance to travel from Wicksburg to Denton Road south of Dothan Airport, then I guess you have no expectations to your loved ones being treated should an emergency occur.


I have called it to your attention. But Mark Culver and the Houston County Commissioners have worked harder to get Mark Culver a raise and a $ 6,000 a year car allowance then they have for the safety of the citizens of Houston County.


This happened today. THANKS to Wicksburg VOLUNTEER Rescue for donating your time in attending this medical emergency.
