Ozark Police Chief Marlos Walker Announces arrest of Capital Murder Suspect In Death of Two Month Old Child

OZARK:   On or about February 25, 2017 at app. 1:40 AM Ozark EMS , Ozark Police and County Sheriff Deptuies were dispatched by Ozark - Dale County 911 Center to the 100 block of Claybank Avenuein reference to an unresponsive child.


Once emergency personnel arrived on the scene they came in contact with a (2) two month old child that was unresponsive. Emergency personnel immediately transported the child to Dale Medical Center for further resuscitation efforts.


The child was pronounced deceased a short time later at Dale Medical Center. The Dale County Coroner’s Office was notified.


During the course of the investigation authorities discovered some suspicious circumstances and conducted several interviews. Law Enforcement Officials also collected multiple items of physical evidence from the scene related to the investigation.


Dale County Coroner Woody Hilboldt and Dale County District Attorney Kirke Adams order the child’s body to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for further investigation. Within the next 48 hours a autopsy is to be performed.


Due to the physical evidence, witness statements, and other circumstances the following person was arrested and charged as follows: Jaylin Jamal Toles, black male, age 19 of Ozark Alabama.


The case is still under investigation by the Ozark Police Department.
