DOTHAN, Ala. – On Monday, April 3, weather permitting, the Alabama Department of Transportation will close South Oates Road in front of the Flying J Truck Stop and AutoZone to repair some drainage structure.

The portion of the road will be closed approximately at 8:30 a.m. and will remain closed until repairs are completed.

Businesses in the vicinity of the closure will be open and remain accessible.  ALDOT encourages customers to continue to patronize these businesses.

During the closure a detour will be in place with message boards placed in the area notifying motorists.

Motorists wishing to cross the portion of the road that will be closed will need to utilize the detour on Hodgesville Road.

Depending on weather, work should be completed in one week.

ALDOT’s mission is to provide a safe, efficient, environmentally sound transportation network across Alabama.  For further information, visit www.dot.state.al.us.
