A potent storm system is expected to move across the region on Monday with the potential for strong to severe storms. The Storm Prediction Center has placed a large portion of the area in a "slight risk" for severe storms on Monday. Attached is the latest SPC outlook for Monday along with a graphic that helps to understand each Storm Prediction Center risk level. There is some possibility that the current forecast category of "slight risk" could increase further as the event draws closer and additional data is analyzed.
THREAT: Damaging straight line winds with impacts to trees and power lines along with the chance of a few tornadoes and hail reports as a squall line moves through the area.
TIMING: Sometime between late morning Monday through Monday night. The time range will be narrowed down further as the event draws closer. Tornado watches are possible during this time.
