PUBLIC NOTICE OF LARGE OCSO TRAINING EXERCISE AT ECCC

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, along with other area first responders, will be taking part in another large scale training exercise Wednesday, February 1st , at the Emerald Coast Convention Center at 1250 Miracle Strip Pkwy on Okaloosa Island. The exercise will run between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The public will see a significant amount of law enforcement and first responder personnel and equipment in the area and there may be loud noises such as simulated gunfire, but those noises should be confined to the inside of the building.
As a result of this exercise, the immediate areas involved will be restricted to training participants only, and the entire Emerald Coast convention Center property will be restricted to the public until twelve p.m.
After that, the public will have access to the building to conduct business, but is asked to please use the south door/entrance to the building
