This is the latest update from the National Weather Service regarding the chance of severe weather tomorrow, Tuesday February 7, 2017.
WHAT: isolated severe thunderstorms possible (40-60 MPH wind gusts and/or 1-inch hail)
WHEN: Tuesday afternoon and early evening
WHERE: mainly north of Albany and Dothan, but possible elsewhere as well
IMPACTS: localized and generally limited to sporadic downed trees and power lines
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop on Tuesday as an upper-level disturbance moves through the region. Moderate winds aloft, coupled with above-normal temperatures, could combine to allow for a severe thunderstorm or two to develop Tuesday afternoon and evening. The greatest threat, though only a 5%, will be north of Albany and Dothan. The threat will diminish during the evening as the disturbance passes to the east and the air cools.
