Single Vehicle Accident Claimed the Life of a Ozark Woman

TROY POST -- A single-vehicle crash at 9:55 p.m. Friday, April 7, has claimed the life of an Ozark woman. Jessica Ann Ruiz, 32, was killed as she walked in the roadway on Alabama 87, five miles south of Springhill. Ruiz was struck by a 2016 Hyundai Tucson and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Hyundai remained at the scene and was not injured. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
