Special Called EMERGENCY Meeting Called for Tomorrow Night in Columbia

COLUMBIA:  Tonight we received several phone calls that a special called emergency meeting of the Columbia Town Council has been called for tomorrow night. The meeting will take place at 202 South Main Street in the Courtroom at 7:00 pm.


As we understand it the meeting has been called to vote on hiring a lawyer in the case of the 940 forged signatures at the senior citizen center that the mayor’s wife runs.


After receiving multiple phone calls tonight, Rickey rode to Columbia to confirm the posting of the meeting. According to WDHN the amount the forged signatures has cost is around $5000.00.  


At last nights meeting some of the citizens asked for the Mayor’s Resignation at which he declined to do.


We will be monitoring this as it unfolds to see if any criminal charges will be filed in this case.
