This is the latest update from the National Weather Service regarding the chance of severe weather tomorrow, Tuesday February 7, 2017.

WHAT: isolated severe thunderstorms possible (40-60 MPH wind gusts and/or 1-inch hail)

WHEN: Tuesday afternoon and early evening

WHERE: mainly north of Albany and Dothan, but possible elsewhere as well

IMPACTS: localized and generally limited to sporadic downed trees and power lines

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop on Tuesday as an upper-level disturbance moves through the region. Moderate winds aloft, coupled with above-normal temperatures, could combine to allow for a severe thunderstorm or two to develop Tuesday afternoon and evening.

The greatest threat, though only a 5%, will be north of Albany and Dothan. The threat will diminish during the evening as the disturbance passes to the east and the air cools.

Please call us if you have any questions at the EMA office 334-794-9720.
