On May 3rd, 2017 at approximately 12:34pm officers with the Marianna Police Department responded to the area of West Manor Drive within the city of Marianna, in reference to a subject walking in the road carrying a rifle. Upon officers arrival contact was made with John Fluskey and a juvenile. A firearm was recovered from Fluskey. During the investigation it was learned that the juvenile was missing. Due to the juvenile being with Fluskey, Fluskey was arrested for interfering with child custody.
On this same date, investigators determined that the firearm was stolen out of the vehicle on Noland Street. The investigation of the stolen gun revealed that Fluskey entered through a vehicle window and obtained the firearm. Fluskey was subsequently charged with burglary of a vehicle while armed and grand theft of a firearm.
Fluskey was transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
