The Dream Share Project, a documentary film by filmmakers Chip Hiden and Alexis Irvin, will be screening at Wallace Community College-Sparks Campus on Thursday, March 2, at 6 p.mm. in the Bevill Center. Hiden and Irvin will also present an inspirational workshop to help attendees identify their dream careers. The screening and workshop is open to the community and admission is free.

The presentation, sponsored by Wallace Community College, will encourage career choices for students and the community. “We hope The Dream Share Project will motivate anyone considering making a big decision in the next few years,” said Amber Dunlap, career resource coordinator at WCCD. “Whether you are a high school and college student, or you are already in the workforce, we want this project to inspire you to pursue your dreams regardless of the barriers.”

The Dream Share Project film follows two recent college graduates (Hiden and Irvin) as they ditch their dead-end office jobs and embark on a road trip across the U.S. to interview successful dream-chasers. Along the way, they learn about discovering one's passion, committing to a dream, dealing with setbacks, and redefining success for the millennial generation.

The film features eye-opening advice from people in a wide range of professions. During their journey, Hiden and Irvin interviewed an Olympic skier, one of the original Latin Kings of Comedy, the CEO of a sustainable flip flop company, a renowned slam poet, a Project Runway fashion designer, the producer of the PBS show Austin City Limits, a NASA astronaut, as well as experts in career development and psychology.

Hiden and Irvin also co-wrote the career guidebook Build Your Dreams: How to Make a Living Doing What You Love, published by Running Press in 2013. They are based in Los Angeles.
