DOTHAN:    When we had terrible rains a while back I received a telephone call from a home owner literally crying over the ditches overflowing and his house flooding. The man lived in Lakewood in a cul-da-sac.

Feeling sorry for the grown man and the devastation he was undergoing I personally went over there along with Matt Boster. The man told me his Commissioner, Albert Kirkland, hung the phone up on him.

I contacted Dothan Commissioner John Ferguson. It was not Ferguson's district but he physically came over to the man's house. Houston County Commissioner Jackie Battles physically came over. Dothan Fire Chief Larry Williams physically came over.

Perhaps a few Dothan staff.

Therevwas discussion concerning sand bags. I remember distinctly we were told, I think by Houston County Commission Chairman Mark Culver that Houston County did not have any sandbags. In fact we learned that Dothan - Houston County Emergency Management ( Steve Carlisle and Mark Culver ) gave or traded our sandbag machine to Coffee County.

Last evening I had the occasion to be in the Houston County Farm Center with a member of the Sheriff Department. Guess what was hidden behind the rusted bleachers that are about to cave in? Sand bags full of sand in pallets. And the Sheriff Department has a fork lift which could have easily loaded the sand bag pallets. The Sheriff Department and Dothan - Houston County Emergency Management even had flat bed trailers and trucks to help the man in distress.

But Houston County Commission Chairman Mark Culver was a LIAR and allowed the man to go without help and his house be flooded.

TO THE FOUR VOTING MEMBERS OF THE HOUSTON COUNTY COMMISSION

The four voting members are 1. Curtis Harvey 2. Doug Sinquefield 3. Jackie Battles 4. Brandon Shoupe.

The Chairman, Mark Culver, can not make a motion and can only vote in the event of a tie vote.

You four gentleman are in control. Each of you have dealt with Mark Culver being a liar and playing games to his advantage.

The time has come to take control, read all documents, and not trust Mark Culver. In fact the Dothan - Houston County Emergency Management Office needs to report to one of the four voting members of the county commission and not Chairman Mark Culver.

BUT TO THE MAN IN LAKEWOOD WHO NEEDED HELP

I KNOW it does you no good now. But everyone at your house had good intentions. And had Houston County Commission Chairman Mark Culver told the truth then perhaps your home would not have gotten flooded.

I understand you have filed a lawsuit against the City of Dothan for the ditch backing up. Not my suggestion to add the entire Houston County Commission. But you might want to add as a defendant Mark Sterling Culver.
