HOUSTON - HENRY - DALE COUNTY:   Look out!   Houston County Commission Chairman Mark Culver, Dale County Commission Chairman Mark Blakenship and Henry County Commission Chairman/Probate Judge have joined hands together.

They have set a February 2, 2017 joint meeting at Headland High School at 6 PM. The topic is to sell the public on their asking the Alabama Legislature to snatch an additional $ 1.2 BILLION DOLLARS from your pockets.

VERY IMPORTANT POINT TO UNDERSTAND:

POINT 1

If they convince the Alabama Legislature to approve this massive $ 1.2 BILLION DOLLAR Tax Increase, it will be a "FORCED" tax increase. The registered voters will have "NO SAY SO AT ALL". No chance to vote on it.

POINT 2

You will ear the term "sunset". This legislation has a "sunset"provision where it will expire. You will find very few tax increases, most especially a $ 1.2 BILLION DOLLAR tax increase, the elected leaders will not renew. They will never give up money.

NO DOUBT ROADS NEED PAVING, ESPECIALLY HENRY COUNTY ROAD 6

There is no doubt there are roads that need paving. On Sunday I was on Henry County Road 6. A dirt road is better riding.

But let me ask a few questions:

1. Why do we need a City of Headland?

2. Why do we need a City of Newville?

3. Why do we need a City of Abbeville?

4. Why do we need Henry County Government?

Could we not save hundreds of thousands of dollars in combining Headland, Newville, and Abbeville into Henry County and making one government. And use that savings for road paving.

ANSWER:   No one will give up their power.

Why do we need:

1. Why do we need a City of Cowarts?

2. Why do we need a City of Ashford?

3. Why do we need a City of Gordon?

4. Why do we need a City of Columbia?

5. Why do we need a City of Webb?

6. Why did need a City of Kinsey?

7. Why do we need a City of Dothan?

8. Why do we need a City of Taylor?

9. Why do we need a City of Rehobeth?

10. Why do we need a City of Madrid?

11. Why do we need Houston County Government?

12. Why do we need a Houston County School system?

13. Why do we need a City of Dothan School system?

Could we not combine into one government entity and use that savings to pave roads?

ANSWER:    No one will give up power.

HOW MANY TIMES DO THE PEOPLE HAVE TO SAY "NO"

Locally and statewide the "registered voters" have said NO...NO...NO... to increase taxes. From education to whatever the cause, the "registered voters" have repeated to say no.

Chairman Culver and others are opposed to giving the "registered voters" a chance to vote on the $ 1.2 BILLION DOLLAR tax increase. What he wants is the Alabama Legislaturge to pass this proposal and the "registered voters" never have a chance to cast their votes.

Join the meeting on February 2, 2016 as the trio attempts to sell you on supporting their taking an additional $ 1.2 BILLION DOLLAR tax increase.
