HOUSTON COUNTY: Houston County Sheriff's Dispatch has reported trees down in the Columbia Area. Reports are several trees are down on hwy 52 at July Road. Hwy 52 is closed until the trees can be cleared.
Also trees down on Bill Yance near Odom Road.

Houston County Sheriff Deputies, Webb Volunteer Fireman, Columbia Volunteer Fireman, Haleburg Volunteer Fireman have jumped into the places where trees are across the road and used thei chainsaws to cut the trees and clear the roadways.
On Highway 52 west of Columbia, two different places trees were across the road. The volunteers jumped out chain saw equipped and went to work.
Columbia Mayor was right in the middle of the crews working to cut the trees.
Columbia Police, Columbia Fire, Alabama State Troopers and Houston County Sheriff Deputies all over the Columbia Area. Houston County Road and Bridge crews were out.
Dothan - Houston County Emergency Management Deputy Director Leigh Adams was on the scene in Columbia also.
So far it appears the only damage has been trees across the road.
On North Washington Street behind Houston County High Scool a tree is down on a live power line. Crews are awaiting utility company to make sure power is cut before attempting to clear that tree from roadway.
