UPDATED @ 8:56 AM... Motor Vehicle Accident with a Fatility at US231 and University Drive

DALE- HOUSTON COUNTY: At 5:50AM.. Dothan Fire and Dothan Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash at US 231 and University Drive. Reports are it's a single vehicle accident and Midland City Police are on the scene. We have confirmed there is a fatality involved and it was possibly medically related.

The area where the crash occurred is closed until it can be cleaned up. The cause of the crash is under investigation by Police.

Rickey is en-route for RSN and will update.

One vehicle was south bound on Highway 231 at the entrance to TROY University. The vehicle crossed the median crossing the north bound lanes, through a ditch and into the fireworks stand parking lot. The person who was the driver was dead on the scene.

Midland City Police in charge of the investigation. Dothan Police and Alabama State Troopers on scene assisting.

Dale County Coroner Woodie Hilboldt identified the deceased as Tommy McCullough of Ozark. 

The Coroner has ruled the death as natural causes and not a traffic fatality.
