UPDATED with Letter....It Ain't A Good Day To Be A Henry County Commissioner - Some Very MAD - MAD - MAD Folks In Henry County At Them

HENRY COUNTY AL:   It ain't a very good day to be a Henry County Commissioner. Cause the people of Henry County are FURIOUS with the County Commissioners.

And the 5 responsible are: District 1 County Commissioner Benton Beasley, District 2 Commissioner John Sanders, District 3 Commissioner Jay Calhoun, District 4 Commissioner Henry Grimsley and District 5 Commissioner Greg Reynolds.

Today, Henry County Commission Chairman David Money followed the marching orders of these 5 commissioners and laid Jerry Green off as Custodian of the Henry County Courthouse.

Now this is not the fault of Henry County Commission Chairman/Probate Judge David Money. Because Money can not make a motion and can only vote in the event of a tie. According to the letter given to Jerry Green by Chairman Money and Personnel Director Ronnie Dollar the 5 voting members of the Henry County Commission voted unanimous to put the boot into Jerry Green's rear end.

Green, who is friendly to everyone that comes in and out of the Henry County Courthouse has been a smiling face for 11 years. The citizens who come and go at the Courthouse are always greeted with tremendous kindness by Jerry Green and James.

They keep the grounds spotless in downtown Abbeville at the courthouse. The building is always clean. The restrooms are always kept spotless with all necessary paperwork. And  both Jerry and James are always greeting the guests and employees with kind smiles and attention to direct them where they need to go.

Henry County Commissioners Benton Beasley, John Sanders, Jay Calhoun, Henry Grimsley and Greg Reynolds ordered Chairman Money and EMA/Personnel Director/Safety Director/Probate Judge's Driver/Deputy Coroner Ronnie Dollar in the last commission meeting to lay off Jerry Green at the courthouse.

But if there is not enough work then why are Benton Beasley, John Sanders, Jay Calhoun, Henry Grimsley and Greg Reynolds always requesting extra help from the Sheriff in sending trustees to help?

RSN has been flooded with calls from people in Henry County.

Today about 1:30 PM Chairman Money and EMA Director/Personnel Director/Safety Director/Deputy Coroner/Probate Judge's Driver Ronnie Dollar called Jerry into the Chairman's Office. They handed him the lay off letter from the 5 County Commissioners.

Chairman Money had no choice. He had no say in this issue since he can not make a motion and can not vote unless there is a tie. No one really knows what has caused these 5 County Commissioners to do this to Jerry Green.

If money is a problem, the 5 county commissioners are knocking down a combined total of about $ 100,000.00 a year, plus insurance and a 10 year retirement. And the commissioners only meet once a month for their almost $ 19,000.00 a year plus benefits.

Chairman Money is drawing a six figure salary. And Chairman Money was ineligible to seek re-election because of being 70 years old plus. But Chairman Money was able to get legislation passed where he can seek re-election. Money only needs three more years to be vested in the state retirement.

So money is not a issue.

All I can say is...I would not want to be these 5 right now...Benton Beasley, John Sanders, Jay Calhoun, Henry Grimsley and Greg Reynolds.

We apologize to Chairman/Probate Judge David Money and EMA Director/Personnel Director/Safety Director/Probate Judge's Driver/Deputy Coroner Ronnie Dollar for your being ordered to do the dirty deed for the 5 Henry County Commissioners.
