If you've stopped at a gas station lately you probably saw it took a little more money to fill up your tank.
Gas prices are going up, with the national average for a gallon of regular gasoline reaching $2.22, up 4 cents from the same time last month. In Alabama, the average price of a gallon of regular gasoline is $2.04, up almost 6 cents over last week and 3 cents from last month's average.
The spike comes as the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries agreed to cut back sharply on production in an effort to stem the flow of oil that's kept prices at the pump relatively low during recent years. The move was OPEC's first production cut in eight years.
The price hike comes just as millions of Americans hit the road for holiday travel.
