On January 22, 2014 at approximately 3:21pm, officers with the Marianna Police Department responded to 4170 Lafayette Street, Marianna, Florida, the business of the Fortune Cookie, in reference to the report of a subject present not paying for his food. Upon officers arrival the suspect was identified as Harry Furrow. During the investigation, it was determined that Furrow wasn’t going to pay for the food he had already eaten. Officers advised Furrow he was under arrest and attempted to restrain him.
Furrow then snatched away from officers, shoving one of them out of the way. Furrow continued to resist until he had to be taken to the ground in order to gain control of him. Furrow continued to conceal his hands from officer’s view and was ordered several times to place them behind his back. Furrow continued to resist, therefore a five second drive stun, from the officer’s Taser X26, to the upper part of Furrow’s back was deployed.
Furrow then complied and was restrained without further incident. Furrow was transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance on the above mentioned charges.
