1 dead, 1 Seriously Injured in Wreck on I-65 NB near mm 211 (Clanton)

According to WSFA: The Clanton Police Department is currently working a fatal single-vehicle wreck on Interstate-65 northbound near mile marker 211, which is just past the Clanton/Lake Mitchell exit (exit 208). 


According to a spokesperson for the Clanton Police Department, officers received a call of the crash at 9:28 a.m. One person was pronounced dead at the scene, and a second person was evacuated by medical helicopter to Birmingham with life-threatening injuries. 


I-65 will be shut down at mile marker 211 until further notice as the police department is investigating the crash. Traffic will be rerouted through either exit 205 or exit 208. Motorist should expect major delays.
