MONTGOMERY CO., AL (WSFA) -
Multiple law enforcement agencies are on the scene of a fatal 2-vehicle crash that happened during a high speed chase Monday morning.
Montgomery County Sheriff Derrick Cunningham says his deputies were pursuing a vehicle suspected to be involved a burglary when the crash happened on U.S. Highway 231. One person was killed. Three others were taken into custody after at least one attempted to flee the scene.
The fleeing vehicle is said to have topped speeds of more than 100 mph, according to the sheriff. Deputies were attempted to deploy spike strips, but the vehicle clipped another automobile and crashed before the strips could be used. There are said to be no injuries in the second vehicle.
