COLUMBIA: At 11:42 AM Houston County Sheriff 911 dispatched Columbia Volunteer Fire and Webb Volunteer Fire to a structure fire at a Antique Shop in Columbia.
Houston County Sheriff 911 reported no response from Columbia Volunteer Fire.
At 11:47 AM Webb Volunteer Fire advised Houston County Sheriff Department the Mayor of Columbia called them on the phone and advised Columbia Fire was on the scene, had the fire out and they were not needed at the fire.
Houston County Sheriff 911 advised Webb Volunteer Fire the 911 Center has had no contact with Columbia Fire.
Webb Fire instructed their units to stand by that he was going to call the Columbia Mayor on the phone and advise him to call Houston County Sheriff 911 Center.
At 11:48 AM Houston County Sheriff 911 Center cancelled Webb Volunteer Fire and other responding units.
It is great to be a 911 Operator and responsible for getting help places when those responsible for responding does not let the 911 Center know. But if I say anything it would be fussing. So what the heck!
