The State of Alabama department of tourism has arrange for a 1953 Cadillac El Dorado convertible, that is the spittin’ image of the same one Hank Williams used to tour the country on his road to stardom. His original one is on display in the Hank Williams Museum in Montgomery, but this fully restored one travels the state of Alabama promoting Alabama Road Trips and functions deemed worthy by the State. The Tri-State BBQ Festival, in conjunction with the Alabama Year of Barbecue is pleased to announce that the 1953 Cadillac El Dorado will be making a spot at the barbecue festival on April 10-11, 2015 at the Houston County Farm Center in Dothan, Alabama.
This is a photo of the actual car, which was featured on the cover of the book, Alabama Road trips by Pulitzer Prize winning author, Rick Bragg. Make sure you bring your camera so you can get a great shot of this classic car! (In the event of inclement weather, the car may be moved to a garage for protection.) the car is scheduled to be parked just inside the main gate, between the Five Star Credit Union Reptile Discovery Program and the Lang Whole hog Cooking School.
