Lots of people have been asking questions about our 1st Annual White Oak Pastures BBQ Challenge. Here are the answers to some of them:


When is it? This Memorial Weekend, May 22 & 23, 2015 Gates will open Friday May 22 at 6pm - 11pm Saturday May 23 10am - 5pm



Where is it? Frontier Village, Fort Gaines, Georgia on the  corner of Ga Hwy 37 & Jackson Street


What is it? A BBQ Challenge to fundraise for Fort Gaines 200.


Who's going to be there? The Georgia BBQ Association's finest competitive cook teams.


Am I going to get to eat the BBQ? Yes and No. Meat that is turned in to be judged is used for the competition only and is not made available to the general public. However, Saturday from 12:30 - 2:30 is People's Choice This is the public's chance to buy tickets and vote on their favorite teams.


Is there live music? Yes! Patty Gates & the Cathouse Kings, Orlando, Florida's finest in Blues & Rock will perform Friday, May 22 from 8pm - 11pm and Saturday, May 23 from 1:30 - 3:30


Are there art vendors? Yes! We have fine artists from Georgia, Alabama, and Florida. Stainglass, pottery, knives, glass, guitars, violins … the list goes on.


What about food vendors? Yes! 29 BBQ and Fish Boys BBQ will be selling delicious BBQ all weekend long! Other food vendors will be on site as well.


How much does it cost? Admission is $5 12 and under are free. If you buy a raffle ticket on Friday, present it a the gate and it will get you in the gate Saturday at no additional charge.


When & How much is People's Choice? 3 tickets for $3 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm Saturday.


What are the Raffles? We will raffle off Papa's Little Cookers "The Tailgater" by Georgia's own Maxey Fabrications. YOU MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN THE COOKER Drawing will be Saturday at the 4pm Awards Ceremony. And we will also have a 50/50 raffle and with one drawing on Saturday at the 4pm Awards Ceremony. You do not need to be present to win the 50/50 raffle. All Raffle tickets are $5 .  Are there dogs allowed? Yes we love animals in Fort Gaines, but please respect the cook teams and keep your dogs on a leash.


Where can I park? Parking is allowed almost everywhere in Fort Gaines. Please be considerate of others when parking. Transit buses will be running. Look for the signs for bus pick up and parking.
